Are men really incapable of judging other men as attractive or unattractive?

Us ladies can judge other ladies as attractive or not.

Why do guys say "I dunno, he's a dude, so I dunno whether he's a good-looker or not"?

Surely you would be able to tell, right?

because whenever a guy attempts to compliment another guy's looks, he's called gay.

Aww come on. Us ladies aren't regarded as gay when we find other ladies uber-jexy!!

We're not that good a judge though either, apart from the obvious tells of attractiveness 'in good shape, clear skin, good facial symmetry' i'm not entirely clear what a girl finds attractive.

Sometimes it seems obscure and abstract.

guys are capable, but like IE said... we get picked on for doing it. so we just avoid having to judge another guy at all costs

yes. even the ladies will sometimes call a guy gay for attempting it. it's a topic no straight guy wants to even try to answer honestly.

I've done it, only in vino though, I do think to myself and always have done that a guy is good looking and i've always been jealous of a lot of guy's and wanted to look like them. Although some guys that are technicallly good looking I wouldn't wanna look like. Like, andrew castle who presents GmTv even if it meant i'd not had a lonely life and had had girlfriends.

Sure we can tell. Men that are secure in their sexuality can admit (to others) his opinion of whether another guy is attractive or not. Although his opinion may differ from someone else's or of a female's opinion.

I'd have no problem stating my view no matter who asked me.

I had asked my guy friend this question years ago - Can you pick out which men a woman is likely to find attractive?

At the time, he was something like 14, and said something like, "no of course not I'm not gay." 6 years later I asked him again and he said he could. Seems like he was pretty comfortable answering it now that he's older.

I actually think it's pretty childish to make fun of guys for giving an honest answer. Anyone with half a brain realizes it does not automatically indicate someone's sexual preferences.

I can judge men as attractive or not just not from my view point.

I judge them by what I think women find attractive.
