There is a lot of talk about loss of jobs and poor economy in America. Along with that there is the subject of free trade and also people having to be fearful of products made in China. I find myself looking a lot more often to see where things I buy are made. I wonder if the people who complain about the loss of jobs ever do. You will find now most of your electrical things are made in China. For example, lamps, toasters and blenders. I even learned recently that some of the food we eat is too. I purchased some jello cups with fruit and they are made in china. I didn't eat them. Iams dog food is too. That is the dog food that poisoned several dogs a couple years back. This is an important issue to me. It is something that should come up in the presidential race but probably won't. I understand the need for the standings on the war to be addressed but just hope that other important issues aren't neglected as well.

I agree with you! We should all try to buy made in the USA products. It is essential for our economy to do so! All of the toys that were recalled were all made in China that should tell us something! Also the tainted toothpastes came from there also.

The American standard of living is too high.

American workers make so much money and get so many benefits that it's not economically feasible to manufacture simple, inexpensive goods here anymore.

America's economy is based more on service and intellectual industries than manufacturing these days.
