It's been pouring with rain in East Grinstead all day, and while I've been doing sculpure in a warm art room I looked out of the window and I saw some of the school kids running around the fields for a PE class. In the pouring rain, wearing nothing but shorts and a T-shirt.

Am I the only one that finds that ridiculous, and slightly wrong? I remember being made to go and run outside in the rain when there was a perfectly good gym that we could have gone into.

And the school moans when kids are frequently off school. When the PE teachers are forcing them to go outside in the rain it's just asking for them all to get colds, is it not?

Lol I just don't think it's right to force the kids out in the rain wearing hardly anything.

I love how someone from Sweden talking to someone from the UK about something happening in the UK, STILL manages to get in a dig at the US. It's like a global past-time or something.

You know, the US is a pretty *large* nation with varied climates.

Unlike anywhere in Sweden, some parts of the US have literally *never* seen snow.

Other parts regularly get *feet* of snow overnight and take it in stride.

Course, I don't expect you to know much about how various localities in the US deal with snow and freezing temperatures. Apparently that ignorance doesn't do much to stop you from ragging on the entire nation.

I was thinking the same thing.

However, yes it does suck and is ridiculous to be made to run around in the rain...particularly if you have a gym. Why build the bym if you aren't going to use the damn thing?

I don't think it's kinda ridiculous, I think it's absolutely ridiculous to force anyone run outside in the rain...wearing only T-shirt and shorts.

It is quite bad, and it does emphasize that schools really need good facilities for all-weathers. Luckily, I never had this problem in school. . . . in Barbados.
