Thats another issue as people mature at different rates, a fourteen year old may be more emotionally mature than an eighteen year old!

Why? You don't have to do it, why take that away from someone else?
Not that the law means anything.
I do a lot of unlawful things, but that's another story. 8)

you cant buy the mags not just because of the sexual content but also because of the adverts in them, chat lines, escorts ect ect are for over 18's. its just to make it simple. they cant advertise these things in magazine if underage people are allowed to read them.

and you can olny get married at sixteen with parents permission. at 18 you dont need parents permission. makes sense to me. also that law was enforced due to other religions living in the UK.

But if you try to get into a strip club or an escort, you won't be able to unless you have ID.

you could quite easily phone a chat line, or book an escort in a friends name, a parents name ect, someone who is of age. these 'companies' dont always check ID, and the ones that do, dont need to advertise in seedy mags!
