Al-Qaida has a master plan to take over the world and turn it into an Islamic state - by the year 2020.

Wishful thinking? Not in the minds of the top terrorist lieutenants interviewed by Jordanian journalist Fouad Hussein for a new book - including Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, mastermind of many atrocities in Iraq.

The plan, which is revealed for the first time in the Australian publication The Age, has seven phases:

Phase 1: The "awakening" in the consciousness of Muslims around the world following the 9/11 attacks, which were aimed at provoking the U.S. into declaring war on the Islamic world and mobilizing Islamic radicals.

Phase 2: "Opening eyes," the current period, which should last until 2006. Hussein said the terrorists hope to make the "Western conspiracy" aware of the "Islamic community" as al-Qaida continues to form its secret battalions.

Phase 3: "Arising and standing up," which should last until 2010 and bring increasingly frequent attacks against secular Turkey and archenemy Israel.

Phase 4: Lasting until 2013, this phase will see the fall of hated Arab regimes, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Oil suppliers will be attacked and the U.S. economy will be targeted with cyber terrorism.

Phase 5: An Islamic state, or caliphate, can be declared between 2013 and 2016.

Phase 6: "Total confrontation," beginning in 2016, will see the Islamic army begin the "fight between the believers and the non-believers" that has been predicted by Osama bin Laden.

Phase 7: "Definitive victory."

Hussein writes that this phase should be completed by 2020, and that the terrorists believe the caliphate will prove victorious because the rest of the world will be beaten down by an army of "one and a half billion Muslims."

Too bad that some on here are allowing them to get away with this by attacking Bush instead of the terrorists.

I don't really care for Bush, but I don't care for most politicians. Personally I think Bush is dumb. But he's not a terrorist. That's just dumb.

NEW YORK — A tape delivered to ABC News in Pakistan (search ) this weekend features a masked man making terrorist threats against Los Angeles and Australia.

ABC News reported that the man is believed to be Adam Yahiye Gadahn (search), an American from California purported to be an Al Qaeda (search) member and wanted by the FBI. The CIA said Sunday it was aware of the report but had no immediate comment about the tape's authenticity.

Counterterror officials believe Gadahn also may be the person on a 75-minute video given to ABC News last year in Pakistan.

The tape was aired on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Sunday, the fourth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The man on the tape, wearing a black turban with most of his face covered, calls the attacks of four years ago "blessed events" before making a threat against the U.S.

"Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, Allah willing. And this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint and compassion," the man says during the 11-minute tape.

He goes on to call President Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair "liars" and issues a warning.

"We love peace, but when the enemy violates that peace or prevents us from achieving it, then we love nothing better than the heat of battle, the echo of explosions, and slitting the throats of the infidels," he says.

Investigators have said Gadahn, who grew up on a farm in California, converted to Islam as a teen, moved to Pakistan, attended Al Qaeda training camps and served as a translator for the terrorist organization.

A phone listing for Gadahn's father, Philip Gadhan, could not be found Sunday. Last year Philip Gadahn said that he was baffled by the allegation his son was an Al Qaeda operative, saying he has spoken to his son only occasionally in recent years, but still can't imagine that he would be involved with a terrorist network.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao said that authorities in his country "naturally inquire when such a tape appears, to know who delivered it or how. Asked whether Gadahn could be hiding in Pakistan, Sherpao said, "I have no information."
