He shouldn't have to tell us anything we should just be doing it out of respect for the planet or the fear of global breakdown in 50 years take your pick. Were the ones that should be leading by example. Anyone not doing there part yet criticizing al gore for not doing his part in everyway is a hypocrite themselves.

Not only that, but do these scientists take into account the sun is getting warmer? Since the sun is getting hotter wouldn't it make sense that the earth would be getting hotter?

Yes they take it into account. Infact the sun getting warmer proves global warming in way. When they see how slow the warming of the sun is they prove that without all the man created carbon dioxide the warming of the earth would be much slower. Probably slow enough for species to microevolve and still live as aposed to being wiped out because of a system crash.

Who's to say what my "part" is? You? I don't have to do anything.

No one says you have to do anything im just saying by not doing anything yet criticizing somone els who is doing somthing makes you a hypocrite. Looks like you and all gore have somthing in common after all.

BTW I do my part by treeplanting every summer. An average of 2000 trees a day for 3 months a year with 1 day off for every 4 worked.

That's just it, he's NOT doing anything. He is just telling US to.

Just a question, do you think you're doing any good by planting those trees? For each time you mow your yard it takes a tree 15 years to undo the "damage" done to the environment.

I'll come to your defense on this one arcades...good job on planting those trees. Too bad Al Gore doesn't stop flapping his gums and takes a lesson from you.

I wasn't trying to insult him with that comment. Sorry if it seemed that way.

Yep....but good point in that post. I never thought about how much CO2 a singel tree takes up and comparing that to what we do at any one time.

Assuming he plants exactly 2000 trees, it "cancels" about 133 people cutting their grass. Meh, more than what I'm doing.

Well he is doing somthing by encourageing others to take action using whatever influence he has. Not to mention he partnered with gay billionair richard branson to creat that contest and spread the word about it. The contest is for somone to creat somthing that can suck 1 billion tons of CO2 a year. the contest ends in 2010 and the prize is 25 mill.
Other then that yes im doing good by planting trees. As most people know trees "eat" carbon dioxide and creat clean air. One of the reasons the CO2 is rising is all the rainforest we cut down in the industrial revolution. Also I dont have a yard I live in an appartment.

As far as the sun spots yes this could be contributing but we know very little about the cycles of the sun and know much more about how we effect our enviroment so untill we know alot more which will take alot of time we have to act to do somthing about it now. As is scientists are saying that sun cycles are a long term change and don't support the decade-century changes that have happened.

He's not doing anything? You're right, he's just bringing international awareness to the problem, but I suppose you can do better? Do it, I'd like to see that.
