A few thoughts...

DOJ - they should be the one handling all of this. Biden did the correct thing in immediately and vocally distancing himself from his Attorney General pick (Merrick Garland), making clear its independence, as well as all the departments that answer to the AG (FBI, etc). They are starting now and making arrests based on various laws broken from evidence and data and this should continue after Biden takes office. They should also be the ones handling whether or not the rioters were incited by leaders and making similar actions based on clear evidence and data, not Congress (see below).

Congress - they should NOT be handling this, and this includes not going after Trump. His term is over in 10 days, and there is therefore no reason to further aggravate an already heated situation politically. Again, let the independent DOJ handle any necessary retribution and example-setting afterwards like any law enforcement agency would and should. Congress instead has a job to do on the 20th that they need to focus on, and that is to deal with the worsening COVID-19 and economic situation and heal the nation, and they need to get started on it right away, especially after the transition delays caused by Trump.

Capitol Police - based on videos, it appears to me that they responded in the correct manner. People were getting hurt in the front lines and it came to a point there really wasn’t any choice but to let them in and do their thing until backup arrived. The fault isn’t the Capitol Police. but the failure in leadership in preparation beforehand, namely the installation of more bodies such as the National Guard. This failure may have been purposeful, and heads should roll as a result, but it isn’t the Capitol Police.

Trump - He should just be allowed to sit and wallow in office until the 19th or until he chooses to beforehand if it’s earlier, to best taper the situation. Pelosi handled the threat of nuclear codes with the military and it is likely that any other reckless attempts of action at will be neutered instantly by those surrounding him, if not by a clearly shaken Trump himself. The only thing Trump may still do is pardon himself. Fine, let him. Federal charges should still occur if crimes were committed and at least we can then have an answer to the self-pardoning by the courts once they occur. If the Supreme Court says he can, who cares. By then, everyone will have moved on, except the crazy. And that group will get smaller and smaller each passing year. There is no way he will be re-elected now, even if he was allowed to run again. Besides, he likely will get charged for state crimes by New York and may be in jail in 2024 anyways even with the federal pardon.

Twitter - They are a private company and can do whatever the f*** they want in what’s posted on their platform. It isn’t censorship, by definition. They didn’t even need to provide an explanation.

DOJ - Biden should order Merrick to file charges against trump!! (j/k)

Congress - Yes. Don't poke the bear. As has been mentioned, Impeachment could make him a martyr to his minions. Let him fade away.

Capitol Police - I agree. Responsibility is at the top. There may have been some miscreants among the ranks, but generally they had a job to do, and had to play the cards they were delt.

trump - .. maybe "trumpism" - should it be declared a terrorist organization?

Twitter - Could have let him go, and supposedly they would be protected by "Section 230" that trump wanted to repeal ... ironic.

just prove like pearl harbor and 911, this is another fine way show how america's frontline is really bad in security again.

for bozo, he should be charge for his behavior. in sense, impeachment is if anything. using bozo as escape goat. the fact - this incident is no better how america was vulnerable were with 911 and the pentagon's attacks.

What, we're gonna focus on a few outliers on what was a largely peaceful protest?

After beating the woman, the man said to her, "I very sorry, but..." and then came the bulls*** excuses, deflections, misdirection and shifting of blame back onto the woman.

Sometime later when the woman was in the hospital after having been beaten yet again, a nurse asked, "did he ever beat you before?"

And the woman said, "yes... but he apologized..."

"Trump considering Giuliani and Dershowitz for impeachment defense team..."

One would think that Trump would have long since figured out the Giuliani is an albatross.

Any laws that were broken should be prosecuted accordingly by law enforcement, as with any crime.

Indeed. Everyone is saying there will be more attacks leading up to inauguration. While I don’t think impeachment or the 25th is the answer, I do think that if it’s going to be used, it should be used as leverage to force Trump to admit his election lies.

No censorship. Fight for open forums. Fight for freedom of expression.

You know republicans spent a lot of time fighting that bakers didnt have to make gay wedding cakes, and that private businesses could deny services for any reason.

so no that the reason (not liking incitement of violence as opposed to gay cake) is not in their favor they are pissed.

their logic is wanting. And most people just don't care to listen to them, that is no ones fault but their own.

Not allowing someone to come to speak his/her mind in your house isn’t censorship.

The government not allowing someone to speak his/her mind anywhere is censorship.

Huge difference.

By the way, were you referring to the BLM protests or the Capitol protests here?

My answer earlier is the same for either, but I was curious.
