Seriously. WT flying F..... So i ordered a screen protector for my phone through a company online. When it arrived, i took it out of the package and was surprised to find a small sticker on each of the three screen protectors (two are backups or for later use). The sticker had instructions to remove after installing on the screen. Simple enough. So after putting the protector on, I went to pull the sticker off.....

You ever seen what happens when you pull a bumper sticker off a car? What stays behind? Well yeah, same thing with this sticker. ALL THREE HAD THE STICKER. ALL THREE WERE WORTHLESS AFTER TRYING TO REMOVE THE STICKER.

Naturally the company said i couldn't get my money back and they hadn't heard any problems with that sticker not coming off clean.

Great packaging. Genious workers there.

Do you have any WD40??if so just put some on a cloth and hold it on the residue of the removed sticker,Don't use much because it will remove your Screen cover as well.

WD40 is a Vegetable oil base so it wont damage your phone, you could try rubbing it CAREFULLY.

Still...who thought it would be a good idea to put something like a sticker on a film like that. Makes no sense. There is that weird plastic that can go on glass and just peel off, but to put a sticker...

oh look, a commercial for "Invisible Shield" by Zagg on the page. That's convenient

That's insane. What a bunch of mental midgets they are.

Lighter fluid also works to take off leftover adhesive.

Lighter fluid will also damage the plastic on the phone,it's to harsh.

You did it wrong

The screen protector itself has a second protective layer on top of it. That's what the sticker is attached to. Once the screen protector is applied, you use the sticker to remove the top layer of film, leaving behind a pristine screen protector.

You weren't supposed to remove the sticker itself.

The best way to attack this problem is with a piece of tape. Apply a piece of tape over one corner of the screen protector. Carefully lift it and you will see the outer layer of film peel off.

I didn't mean to pour it on. Put a little bit on a cloth and lightly rub the area where the adhesive is.

im i misreading, or did you apply the screen protector and then remove it accidentally?

all screen protectors ive used come attached to a piece of clear plastic film, which protects the screen protecters sticky side from attracting dust.
you just remove the film from the protector and then attach the protector to the phone.

All of the dozen+ screen protectors I've purchased in the last 2-3 years have come packaged with two pieces of film attached: one on the bottom protecting the actual sticky side and another on top protecting the side you actually touch.

You have to remove the bottom film, apply the screen protector, and then apply the top film. The OP didn't realize there was a second film to remove and instead removed the sticker. But the sticker is attached to the outer protective film and is just there to help you remove it.
