New York Yankees (26 World Series Championships).

I called up every Dodgers fan that had multiple orgasms when they thought that "The Best Player In All Of Baseball" was going to land in Hollywood... and told all of them to kiss my ass, because No. 13 is going to be a Yankee until the day he decides to hang up his batting helmet.

Alexander the Great, who just recently won the 2007 American League MVP trophy in a landslide victory, finalized the mammoth 10-year, $275 million dollar contract with the New York Yankees earlier today. The richest contract in professional sports history surpasses the 10-year, $252 million dollar deal that Scott Boras negotiated for him when he signed with the Texas Rangers 7 long years ago.

Rodriguez and Scott Boras made of mess of things on Oct. 28, when he opted out of the deal during the final game of the 2007 World Series. Boras and A-Rod had visions of a $350-$400+ million dollar contract rattling around in their domes. This decision angered the Yankees organization because the $21.3 million dollar subsidy brokered in the trade between the Rangers and the Yankees would be terminated.

When the Dodgers, Angels, Mets, Cubs and Red Sox withdrew their names from the list of potential candidates; A-Rod told Boras to retreat, so that he could restore his good name. With the assistance of a managing director with Goldman Sachs, the two sides came together and the potential $305 million dollar contract was signed.

The Yankees needed to get this deal done because every team needs superstars when they move into a new stadium. The Yanks will begin play in a new ballpark beginning in 2009.

The blockbuster deal is $275 million for 10 years, plus another $30 million if he breaks Barry Bonds' all-time home run record. Bonds is sitting on 762, while Alex Rodriguez is at 518.

A-Rod wants a ring, so the Yanks are hoping that Joe Girardi, along with the signings of Rivera, Posada, Pettitte, LaTroy Hawkins and the possibility of bringing in either Dan Haren or Johan Santana will be enough to bring home their 27th World Series title.

its alot of money.. but if he doesn't perform, what happens then? Looks like he'll get there.. only 250 or so away from Barry, 10 years in contract, around 25 a season. Now thats manageable. Good luck to him
