I hate to use the word "grunge" but if that's what it takes to get people talking, fine.

Best Bands of the Early to Mid 90s:

Pearl Jam
Soundgarden
Stone Temple Pilots
The Smashing Pumpkins
Nirvana
Screaming Trees
Collective Soul
Blind Melon

I love that song by Blind Melon.. "No Rain". I think that's what it's called and who it's by! I heard it on XM radio the other day and I saved it in the memory.

"All I can say is that my life is pretty plain...I like watching the bottles gather rain..."

It's puddles, but that song does rock. I'm a sucker for grunge.

Blind Melon is so beyond "No Rain" though. Amazingly talented singer who died too young. Oh my god I forgot Alice in Chains; although, they were considered more appealing to the metalheads.

Erm...Silverchair?
Or were they too late? Because they're first album was in like...1995?
Or am I completely off?

Not entirely sure where you would place Silver Chair genre-wise, but God knows I've lost some of my hearing playing Frog Stomp too loud.

Bush was really big in my books back in the day. Silverchair were '95, not too late. The Pumpkins biggest album was around there. Although, Silverchair didn't get much credit because people called them Pearl Jam/Nirvana rip offs. I never thought they sounded a thing like the bands but whatever. Daniel Johns is a hell of an artist now.

Some great bands. I don't know all the bands/songs of all the bands mentioned, but what I do know I like a lot.

I like grunge.

Grunge is awsome why don't you like the word? It means dirt and it's just a mix of punk and metal and it's great. The original Seatle Four Grunge bands: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana. Screaming Trees and Stone Temple Pilots were good Post Grunge bands. Blind Mellon, Collective Souls, and The Smashing Pumpkins were great alternative bands. Grunge is a sub-genre of Alternative Rock btw.
