Well less than a year into a six year contract and Moyes has been sacked. Not even the support of AF was enough to save him. The writing was on the wall even before the 0-2 loss to Everton.
Will be interesting to see who replaces him. Surely this time they will go with a manager with experience in managing BIG clubs.
At the moment the obvious choice would appear to be Van Gaal. He has had success with Barcelona and Bayern and his attacking style of football would appeal to many. He is of course currently managing the dutch national team (again).
Sir Alex was apparently part of the decision to sack him so he didn't have his support. I supported him all season until I saw no improvement in performances. His tactics were set up as don't lose rather that go for the win which is what United is all about. One of his post match interviews summed it up for me after the Newcastle loss at home he was asked why he had left Van Persie on when he was injured and he said "People would have asked why i was taking off my top scorer when we were chasing the game" That is what set him apart from top managers as he really didn't seem to know what he was doing or was afraid of causing problems. Top managers cannot be afraid of causing problems with the press or any player. That is what set Sir Alex apart as when others thought he should continue with the team he had. Sir Alex would rip it apart and start again ala Hughes, Kanchelskis and Ince who were sold when many thought they were at the peak of their powers. Sir Alex was proved right and there weren't alot of things he got wrong. Its that indecision or cowardice that caused lots of the fans to drop their support for him....in short the job was too big for him
