"The average weight of a newborn baby is about 7 1/2 pounds, which is why it's shocking -- even in Texas -- that a woman has given birth to a 16-pound baby boy.

Two feet tall at birth, JaMichael Brown is the biggest baby ever born in the state of Texas. ..."

Two feet tall?!! Oh my GAWD!

Having said that; my grandfather, (my mom's dad) weight 20 pounds at birth.
I think I would have just stood there, and let him drop out.

TWO FEET? I've heard of a 22lb baby being born, but never thought about that in feet. Holly shiz, I'm only three feet taller and I'm 22.

TWO FOOT TALL !

they're going to need a sewing machine to try and put that poor woman back together again.

Is it just me that two-foot part is not the big deal but the 16lb part?

average North american babies are 20 inches (which is just 4 inches short of two feet) and 7.5 lbs. That like 9 lbs just for those 4inches.

i don't really have any concept of what 16lbs is though so the 2 foot thing was more shocking to me. upon reflection though they both go hand in hand to create something that would hurt.

Oh I'm sure it hurt, its just not the shocking part to me.

Its like talking about how "big" Kevin James was, but focusing on his height. He's like 5'10 and was over 300 lbs.

Of course he has lost a lot of weight lately and he's not a newborn, so maybe its not the best analogy, but I can't figure how else to explain it.

I think if I had a 16 pound baby (that's a little over a stone, if you were having trouble with that ), I'd be glad it had a few extra inches of length. Otherwise, the baby would just be bigger around. Ouch.
