An 11 year old boy is facing adult charges in the shooting of this father's girlfriend who was 8 months pregnant.

Pennsylvania law states that anyone over the age of 10 accused of murder or homicide is charged as an adult if they are convicted.

Charging an 11 year old as an adult? What are your thoughts?

The weapon was a youth model 20-gauge shotgun, designed for use by children, that belonged to the boy, according to investigators.

They have guns for children?

They are plenty old enough to know right from wrong at that age..

I can't begin to imagine what's going through his poor father's mind.

That's another good point; I didn't even know they had guns designed specifically for children...I still find it hard to believe.

Good. He should be tried as as adult. And if the state has a death penalty, I hope he gets it

I don't know , I'm kind of on the fence here. First of all the child should be punished that's a given. Punished properly as well. I really don't have a problem with him being charged as an adult or without him serving life in prison he did take a human life.

My problem here is that the father or whoever the guardian is of this child holds part of the responsibility . That's my opinion and I'm sure I'll get s*** about it but damnit to hell he is a kid and he needed adequate supervision and dicipline . I don't mean to blame the father that has been through so much already but someone has got to be accountable for supplying this child with a firearm .

I don't know I'm not in that position so my views are exactly that my views.

I know some kids have their own hunting rifles, but they are taught responsiblity and respect if they have the right parents. That's a good point, Wild.

Yeah, they have guns scaled down to fit youths and women. Why not? My 7 year old grandson hunts. Got his first deer last season. His dad taught him and supervises everything. Keeps their guns in a gun safe too.I can't help feel there is lots more to that story.

Oh yeah I realize kids hunt as a matter of fact my ex took my daughter on many youth deer hunts on the TWRA. Hell I was picking allumuin cans off a fence post when I was ten years old. My point is I was taught that a lot of respoinsibility went with the privilege of having that gun and it was'nt always at arms reach for me. If my Daddy or my grandfather were'nt around to supervise I did'nt use it , end of story.

Because it's murder!! It's not like he pushed a kid on the playground.

i dont believe that an 11 year old is mature and mentally developed enough to realise the severity of his actions, if they prove he had actual motive and was unremorseful,whatever.. sentence him to juvenile detention and therapy, until he is of age and re examine him. theres no justification for sentencing an 11year old boy to life in prison! in most cases, homicide is dealt with by execution, would they execute an 11year old boy???!!

If you can do the "crime" you should do the "time".
