You are not the only one who feels this way. I to wish for a simpler time, but we must remeber that with progress that creates a more complicated life we get things like a sable food source, better medicine and so forth.

I feel the same way at times Treebs , of course with being used to working outside the home and then being shut in for awhile I am readyto get out of the "little suzy homemaker stage" and get back to work myself.

I used to bake and do big dinners for the family and I still do but not like I used to do.

I'm trying to clean my house today and it just seems impossible like I can't get anything accomplished between phone calls and visitors and of course posting on TFS.


Oh those were the good old days.

My home life wasnt quite so nice Tree but it was quite good compared to now. I could get up in the morning in the summers and go out to play only to come home for a yummy lunch (made by my step dad)then off on my bike till my mom got home and we had dinner.

She worked and he stayed home (disabled) and we did stuff all the time together.....camping, fishing, road trips to see relatives. I loved being a kid. Now you cant even let them walk to school alone.

I know what you mean though, sometimes i feel life was much more simpler, and easier back int he 60's or so, the music was better and it was all more...i dunno "exciting". I mean i don't especially hate the time we're in now, but it's too fast paced and money orientated.

Oh I can remember those road trips, man we had such a good time. All 12 of us packed into a big old huge a** station wagon, but we made the best of it. Mom would lead us in singing and we'd sing all along the way. It was good fun back then.

The only drawback to those long 8-10 roads trips was, you could'nt drink very much because Dad only stopped when he needed to refill the gas tank and you'd better use the potty then or you'd have to wait another 200 or 300 miles till the next stop.

was it really that great or was it just because we were young and innocent?
