how do you start conversation with strang people?

i wonder how do you usually start conversation with people you don't know?
a lot of people don't know what to talk about with someone a new they just keep looking at eachother. maybe feeling shy to start a line.
i myself start talking about general things. ofcourse sometimes i feel like to ask deeper questions , but i just don't maybe waiting for another opportunity .
what most pisses me off when people start asking you very personal stuff ,
i don't think it's appropriate, becouse you don't know very well the person are you talking with.
what do you think??

Just say "hey random, what sup?" it works for me

Well since the weather changes here so frequently , I usually say something like Man it's hot today huh? I'm not shy at all so I don't find it hard to start up a conversatin with people that I don't know. I usually do start by flashing them a big smile though that usually breaks the ice.

I to just start off with the genral stuff and keep it there, only after i get to know someone i ask deeper questions.

I tend to just open my mouth and speak - never really think about what I'm saying - am a bit of a chatterbox normally. I sometimes think that people think I'm a bit strange myself!!!

Sometimes just a smile is enough to get someone to say Hi First.

I agree, smiling and saying hi is the biggest step and sometimes the hardest. It gets people started though, if they feel you are trying to be friendly they normally open up a little.

Keep things simple, "what do you do", "where do you live/grow up"......start that way and maybe you will find things in common and you can add more later.
