no its running windows and its not a mac but it had a bug which caused me to loose some programs outlook being one of them

If it still has Windows running, downloading from the sites as mentioned will auto repair. As for reinstallation...I'm not too sure if it can be done, unless you reformat and reinstall Windows itself. Why don't you try it and see? No harm done. It's an option, at least.
