LCD problems an CDRW problems

Hey guys recently my viewsonic VA720 has been displaying distorted images in anything prior to windows.....anything that is not in it's native resolution. All of a sudden today, nothing but random colors fill the screen all the way up to the windows splash screen. AFter that everything is perfect. And on the side, my CDRW just STOPPED reading cd's around the same time. I've checked all the connections, and it shows up in windows just fine, and in BIOS, but it just won't read or spin up or down or anything. Thanks,

What type of cdrw, internal/external, and what not, the dela with the viewsonic probably has something to do with the refresh rate your monitor is outputting at boot. Something else you can do to test is hooking it up to a crt monitor and and booting to check to make sure its not your videocard throwing out trash.

When I hook up a crt everything is fine. I hooked up my moniter on several other computer and experienced similar results. As for the CDRW it's a internal 48x16x48. The second drive on that chain (slave drive) works just fine.

Definately don't think the problems are related, as for the cdrw, try taking the slave drive off the chain and double check that the cdrw is set to primary and what not. If this doesn't work it might just be dead, only other thing to try is to put it into another computer and see if that works. Process of elimination to see whats wrong.

I love the music on his new cd! They are different and great songs! good cd!
