I think manners starts at home,or should do anyway.if a child is not taught please/thankyou at a young age and not pulled up when they forget then how are they supposed to know.
I also think haveing manners has a teenager gains you respect,in so much as people look at you in a total different way then they would if you have none.
Adults that dont use their manners.... well its just plain ignorrance on there part.

Manners shouldn't manner. We should all just spit on each other like we really want to.

I try to say please and thank you to everyone. Especially at the drive thru. Unless people suck. Then I don't thank them.

This has been a fun read, it brings back memories. Before you skip the rest and start flaming

--mind you, my son is just over two years old, (he says plz and ty, or he doesnt eat :P) --

I was raised hard core mannerable- but NOW I use plz and ty on a case by case basis. Im not gonna thank the drive through lady for giving me food if she isnt nice or doesnt smile. Im not gonna tip my waiter/ress if they suck. Ill thank a cop for giving me a warning, but not a ticket. Im not going to automatically respect my elders, I know a 50 year old crackhead.

Most people in this world have forgotten that courtesy and manners are earned, and are not automatic.
