Shawn Chacon(1-1) overcame a sluggish start and Gary Sheffield supplied the power with a homer, three hits and four RBIs as the Yankees cruised in a 12-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
Gary Sheffield who had been hitting .207 was moved to DH allowing Bernie Williams to start in right field.
"It did help. I didn't have to think about defense." Sheffield said about the move to DH. "I felt good today. Strong in my last at-bat."
Every starting Yankee had at least one hit in the game.
The New York Yankees have totaled an astounding 31 runs in their three straigt victories.
