Hate to sound like pipe & slippers but...

WHAT the hell is hip hop, r&b, house, garage etc??? What happened to a world where I could understand things? These voguish musical terms just befuddle me as everything sounds the bloody same as everything else....

There is alot of difference to these types of music, but of course it is all 'watered down' for the pop market so the comercial stuff all sounds the same
Try looking for the underground hardcore stuff and then you will know what the difference is

I actually remember when you had Heavy metal and hard rock.

yes. .I s*** you not. back in the olden days that was all that was needed to make the proper distinctions.

what was once heavy metal is now numetal, grunge, blackmetal, deathmetal, neorock, rapmetal, grindcore, drone, industrial, noise, and so on and so forth.

all I can say it this:

People who say the have full control over the definitions are obviously lying, because it's a hard days work to find to critics who will fit the same bands in the same slots.

So hardcore's the way then? Heavy metal made my head hurt. Got dragged to a goth bar in Liverpool last summer...

hardcore is just a bass line boom boom boom and a high hat tiss tiss together its boom tiss boom tiss (consult your local boy racer lol) with a few samples thrown in it will probably give you a headache 2

maybe you just havent found your niche, dont be spoon fed, go out and explore music more

My fave piece of music is Clair de lune, I just don't get all this stuff. My head hurts.....
