Clean break-up..

is there really such a thing? I suppose if you both agree that the realtionship isn't working then it's possible. Has anyone ever have had a clean break-up where it was a mutual decision on both sides?

Yes a couple of times. My first marraige was a clean break. We communicated by phone simply to finalise the divorce and we havent seen each other since then.

And the second time was when my Ozzie went back to Sydney.

Im glad we did it that way, I was absolutely sure in both cases it was the end and there was no recurring turmoil, just one wrench and it was over.

I had this girlfriend who broke up with me. I really liked her but she was being manipulated by her mother to stay away from boys. Her mother admitted this to me months down the track.

I didn't have contact with her for 3mths approx. We got on quite well aferwards. We never even had a fight.

I want to add though, its not always necessary. My past two boyfreinds have remained close freinds to me and i get on really well with thier new girlfreinds. Whats past is past etc. etc. and if i had cut them off completely i wouldnt have two very good freinds in my life.

I guess it depends on whether you are able to move on or not.

My last girlfriend and me both agreed to end it cos it just wasn't fun...it was awkward and we both decided to end it and stay on as friends, which i really liked!

Little did i realise that that was basically the end of it all and i haven't spoken to her for about 2 months now...really sad.

I've had a few clean breaks and then I've had some doozies too, but this thread is about the clean break-ups. I was involved with this guy we'd been livng together for about 4 months and I had a misscarrage after than I just pretty much lost all interest in life for a while, I wanted to be one place and he wanted to be another so we just agreed to disagree and part ways on good terms.
