Strange that the folks accross the big pond "can't" see that.

Or should the word be "won't".

60,000 people.

I'll say that again sixty thousand Iraqis dead since the WAR ENDED.

This isn't small armed conflicts.

WHY do the US and British government want to hide from what is as obvious as the nose on your face.

So if I kill sixty thousand people on my own just for the hell of it, that would be a civil war?

The question here is: Are the Iraqi rebels trying to take over the rule of the country, or do they just like killing Westerners?

I don't think the definition of civil war is really important in relation to... anything at the moment. I think that's why we can't agree on the subject: no-one cares to define it.

They want the whole world to think "what a bad idea the Iraqi war was". Then the Coalition forces are withdrawn, and the terrorists can live a happy life doing whatever the hell they want.

I get what your saying... all the right wording is in place thou.. people fighting people to gain power within a country.. but your right, it should be caled a struggle for power within a country..(civil war)

Lots of people care to define it, which is why it's a well defined term.

I quoted a good, commonly accepted by historians definition.

No one *here* seems to care.
