Sofware for music creation?

I guess I could do this myself, but I felt like asking the good people of TFS just to see if that is an effective approach:

I am in need of music software, and since I am somewhat "monetarily challenged" at the moment I need it to be free.

Here is what I need:

-drum sequencer, or other suitable rythm creator.
-sample editor
-endline program to put pieces together into a tune.

I will be using nothing but free software, so trial editions of commercial programs won't cut it.

Apple have made a range of laptops, pc macs for downloading music, storing sheet music etc or you could try alienware - good for gamers and anyone else who needs alot of memory tracks - you can link it up to your recording equipment burn your tracks onto a cd

I used to use Cubase, its what They use in record producing.. i sampled drum beats and other stuff using that programme...

Cubase ain't free, I have used the professional editions to great satisfaction before though.

I don't have any use for alienware or any of the other apple things mentioned. I am about to MAKE music, not just store it a play it back.

so.. you people are telling me that there is something you CAN*T use tfs for?

I doesn't work as a nonspecific music software finder?
