Global Britain

"Global Britain" is the Brexiteers catchphrase. No longer a "colony" of the EU, they look forward to the UK giving a strong and admirable performance upon the world stage.

(Perhaps "Global England" would be a more appropriate soundbite. Both Scotland and Northern Ireland voted in the Referendum to Remain in the EU. Wales narrowly voted Leave but Polls now show overwhelming preference to Remain)

But what are the signs of the UK being/going "Global"?

We will soon be bringing in new visa requirements making it more difficult for others to come here, while reciprocation means that our youngsters will find it more difficult to pursue their learning throughout Europe.

We are currently unilaterally amending the EU Withdrawal Bill, this allowing the breaking of International Law.

We are - breaking an election pledge by the Tory Party - reducing our Overseas Aid budget.

So the signs are not good.
