A new type of aurora is rippling across Arctic skies. Citizen scientists who discovered it nicknamed it “The Dunes” because of its resemblance to desert sand dunes.

I'd love to see the auroras one of these days....

Of the few times it's been "possible" to see them down at my latitude, it's been overcast, rainy or otherwise crappy weather.
