The Colorado Department of Revenue announced this week that the combined marijuana tax, license and fee revenue had reached $1.02 billion, and marijuana sales alone have exceeded $6.56 billion.

So...

> $1.02 million added to the Colorado state revenue, from Marijuana sales.

> $6.56 increase to the Colorado state's economy.

Now add:

> The revenue from the state's income tax (I think it is 4.63%) from the people employed in the marijuana industry either directly or indirectly (from employees in the various areas from growing to sales, from advertising to packaging, etc... etc...).

> The reduction of state expenditures (i.e. money saved) in law enforcement, courts, incarceration, probation, etc...

> The input to the state's economy from the various people in the industry spending their money (i.e. income), including the purchase of: apartments, houses, vehicles, furniture, clothing, food, public transportation, etc...

There was a news clip somewhere saying in states where Med MJ was legal, people (patients) are still going to the black market because it's cheaper.

Another state with legalized recreational MJ proposed, or maybe even passed a law prohibiting employers from testing and denying employment for positive MJ results - except for certain professions.

And wasn't it Denver that decriminalized 'shrooms?

California has a huge budget surplus due to weed sales.

I've already started working up my vacation plans to take a 'shroom trip.

Can't people buy the seeds and grow it themselves?


I would prefer it if the doctor doing my cataract surgery wasn't stoned.
