@Leon Said
In fact, this is why he is a billionaire. He has been able to con people by embellishing his worth to the point that accountants rubber stamp his records with caution, still getting them into loaning him millions despite that into business ventures, and he then regularly cleans his debt playing the bankruptcy system like a favorite toy. While American banks have long caught onto him, he now gets most of his money from foriegn banks and Russian oligarchs who also desperately need it cleaned like the bedsheets of their Moscow Ritz Presidential Suite did after the 2013 Miss Universe pageant.
And let’s not forget about how he initially got wealthy, with conniving tax evasion schemes with his father, and the likelihood of such schemes continuing to this day with his refusal to release his tax transcripts, not to mention giving reasons for not releasing them that are as much bulls*** as they are varied from excuse to excuse.
So, let’s see....from this past week alone:
A federal judge in Washington threw out Trump’s attempt to block a House subpoena to get Mazars, his accounting firm, to hand over his tax returns and other financial documents.
A federal judge in Manhattan ruled against Trump’s attempt to block his lenders, Deutsche Bank and Capitol One, from complying with House subpoenas seeking his detailed financial records.
In New York lawmakers approved a bill that would allow Congress to obtain Mr. Trump’s state tax returns.
It should also be of note it was leaked this past week that the above-mentioned Deutsche Bank, his only lender the past 20 years that was willing to loan him money with substantial regularity since his previous lenders were screwed into huge losses from doing business with him, apparently red-flagged some of Trump’s transactions as, you guessed it, possible sources of money launderers, but subsequently covered up. The House Intelligence committee is looking into that as well.
Team Trump of course is appealing all of these rulings of course, and continues to stonewall, distract, use Barr’s interpretation of Mueller’s report to exonerate him of all crimes (even though these have nothing to do with what Mueller was investigating), and throw public hissy fits at the podium.
Obstruct, deflect, obstruct, deflect. Right into the 2020 election. Keep digging that hole.
You cannot really blame him. He has two options here. Either comply, which will lead to uncovered activity, or stonewall. Any criminal would chose the latter as the lesser of two evils.
There is zero reason to chose the latter if there is nothing he did wrong.
