Sometimes conflicted, sometimes confused, sometimes contradicting.

Because I understand the reason why. Yet at times we are choosing the winners - which I don't think is always right either.

Playing Mother Nature: Sea Lions

Sometimes we try to right a wrong we have done, or correct a mistake and it gets out of hand.

Other times we are just trying to keep change from happening - which seems to be the case with the sea lions...in a way.
We live on this planet so there is no way to "not affect" nature.
- granted, we have the intelligence (but not the will) to minimize our footprint.

History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of man.

Any thoughts or interesting stories?

"Invasive Species" is a recurring theme where some good intentions go bad. I think I heard that the "Killer Bees" are a result of an intentional cross breeding.

Or mistakes go unnoticed until it's a problem - pythons and monkeys in Florida, rabbits in Australia.

TLDNR I find no problem with thinning the herd. If wolves are killing your sheep you kill the wolves. If lions are killing your trout then you thing the herd.
