Ah, right. You had me thinking I was missing something somewhere for a moment. LOL.
Basketball isn't popular here. It's hardly played, probably because we play a different game called netball. It still involves throwing a ball through a hoop above the ground, but it differs mostly in that there is no dribbling with the ball. Rather than a dribbling game it is a "pass and catch" game. Players can only move up the court to attack the opponent's goal when they haven't got the ball so the player in possession must remain stationary and the rest have to find position to receive a pass. I'm sure you get the drift.
In short, you do all your running when you haven't got the ball.
That's the major difference, but netball kinda deters men here from playing this sort of game because it's only played by girls and women and that makes basketball unattractive to British men. They think of any game that resembles netball as being effeminate.
This is my game. This is what I play. Oh, and as you'll notice, there is no backboard to the goal.
I know I've drifted a little off-topic, but seeing as you brought it up......
I'll get back on subject now.
