It's all or nothing

As some of you know (If I can remember posting it, or not), I am currently the Vice President at Psi Chi at my University. We are having elections coming up, due to our President graduating this semester. We have a new method and it is making me nervous. Members of the Honors society have to nominate someone for a leadership position. So far we have 5 positions. I would love to be President, but will continue to be VP if I have to. I’m afraid that no one will nominate me. I actually do put in effort, but as of right now there’s this girl who is a mentee that the leadership and my mentee believe should be the next President. I have nothing against her, she’s on point with what she does. She is even highly motivated. The only person who thought I should be president is the current President. I’m afraid that I won’t get the opportunity to continue my leadership position and move the club forward. I don’t think I can help the club from the sidelines.

Well, what can you do to get nominated? Have to lobbied for it? Can you talk to others about you being president?

What's the benefits? What do you get out of the position? - I'm just wondering.

Good Luck!

Well the most I can try to do is promote myself is talk to a bunch of the members, which I do already. While we had a weird hiatus, I was the one who went out to try to maintain interest in the club. I did majority of the promotion. I sent out the emails. She did one thing, that I admit was highly impressive and helped bring organization to the club and everybody thinks she should be President. Being in a leadership position will give me an opportunity to help the club directly and fix the issues that the President lacked. I could be wrong, but in this sense, I don’t believe I can help the club progress from the sidelines.
