The Thomas Fire, one of five destructive blazes currently burning in California, now ranks as the fifth largest wildfire on record in the state.
As of Sunday evening, burned more than 230,000 acres, an area larger than New York City and destroyed more than 600 structures in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties since sparking last Monday. The fire’s containment, which dropped from 15 to 10 percent, continues to threaten more than 15,000 structures....
While Florida is (sort of) home, I'm presently in So Cal (and spend a lot of time here).
We are pretty much in the middle of the Thomas Fire. Literally in the middle. We're in a valley and have watched the fire burn around us. Geography, winds and fire fighters have kept our small area safe.
Sadly others have not been quite so lucky.
On TFS I think Leon and Ratty both live in So Cal. I hope you guys (and your families/friends/etc) are safe.
