If you dreamed of a perfect life and that dream continued, could you be bothered to wake up at 6am to get to your s***ty job?

David Lynches' "Elephant Man" depicted a man suffering with a disfigurement. Each night he had horrid dreams as he was burrowing his way to death to escape the s***ty tangible existence god had given him.
Towards the end it is discerned that the poor man would never be allowed to live a quality life due to the ignorance of the many others around him and he was granted a dream of reuniting with his deceased mother and passed in his sleep.

Here in St. Peter plays the role of Hades to keep us alive; scare-crowing us away from the sweet embrace of experiencing absolutely nothing but a dreamless sleep.
