...I go hiking / camping in....

....Big Cypress National Preserve for 10 days.

I need to get out more soon. There are a few great spots around me for hiking and last time I went was a month ago but had kids with me. We spent a good five hours but I'm looking forward to going on my own again.

I'm hoping to find some Florida Panther tracks.

I have a few photos of panther tracks farther north (in Florida) just south of Lake Okeechobee.

Of course I would love to see one... love even more to get a photo... but they are super elusive!

When I lived in Arizona I used to hike Mt. Lemmon a lot and would see mountain lions occasionally below the timber line. Luckily they'd be far enough away to allow me to be sitting here typing this now.

About two months ago I got a photo of mountain lion tracks in California... they looked pretty fresh...the grass blades were still bent over... I kept thinking it was probably close enough to be watching me....

I remember javalina.

Those f***ers are mean. One chased a friend of mine, he nearly took a tusk up the ass. (apparently he unknowingly got to close to the baby and mama wasn't having it)

The peccary is similar (the same?) but in central and south America... I've eaten them.

Tasted good.

But under the circumstances on could say that hunger is the best spice.
