First parent/teacher conference...

Nothing has made me feel more grown up than having a kid in school, lol.

His teacher said he was an absolute joy to have in class... The worst thing she had to say, if it can even be construed as BAD, was that he was very social. HAHAHA! I remember reading back on the reports from my teachers things like "She will talk regardless who she is placed next to." So who KNOWS where he gets THAT from, lmao.
She showed me charts of things they work on, which, by the way, is a lot more than I remember learning in kindergarten... There are numbers that are expected of the students at this point of their curriculum... and there were the numbers she showed me... He is SO MUCH HIGHER than the expetcations! And better still, the entire curriculum is equipped to keep up with his learning... If he gets thru the lessons, he'll be able to move on to advanced ones, and not have to wait around for that. I LOVE THAT. He is in the highest reading group and there are only two other kids in his group...
I am one proud Momma! I gotta be doing something right, huh!

Mine were up there too, back in the day.
One teacher had the gall to ask me to stop home-tutoring my kids, she considered it was unfair to their classmates to have them so far ahead of the class!
That and a couple of similar things lead to me changing the kids to a different school entirely, and they blossomed!
All of mine were offered advancement to a higher grade at one time or another but I didn't permit it, they needed the peer/socialisation of their own age-group more than they needed the faster accomplishment, which they could and did achieve anyway.
They are all now highly successful Uni-qualified professionals, so keep up the good works Mum, he will reap the profits in the long run, and you the pride in his success!

in the beginning, my mom went to parent/teacher conferences. my mom was surprise how my teachers praise work and how much i was a gentleman and play with other kids in my classes. my mom was really please, because i was shy and quite little boy. i always playing with neighborhood's kids. i finally got out of my shell in my early teenagers. i was a late bloomer. let us said i was a good kid, but i like to do minor trouble ( nothing that bad. )in class. i spend time ( a lot of time ) at the principle's office in grade 7-10. one day, in the principle's office, you know where the secretary is, i spend a lot of time. one day, i was sitting in there spending my jail time. my mom walking in my winter coat. when to the secretary, she see me behind her. ( my mom was concerned i didn't wear a coat in the morning headed school, it was hot then. ) she told the secretary, i might need my coat. i spoken out, and said ' hi mom! ' my mom turned back and gave a look, and she said to me, ' hi twilite, here is your coat. ' she is even asked me why i was there but she wasn't thrill to see me there. she didn't give her famous 'evil ' eye, like mother do. most my mom/teacher conferences, she wasn't surprise by see me there. the funny part of the early conferences in jr. high school and even high school, my teachers always gave high praise about me, that i never gave up, i was trying hard to get something out my class. most of they were overhead. i would go of the class, try learn things outside my class to understand. my mom was surprise how the teachers like me, she was very proud of me. after they told her i like to get trouble in class, that when my mom know that her boy. only reason, why i share this with you, it is funny to think it now.
