If his last name was Jack he'd sound like something from a Japanese casino.

"Barack Jack"

But being Japanese, he'd be hated less than being either black or French.

I love thrift shops. Especially used book stores. I can always find something I enjoy there. But I would rather have a book in hand than to read it on anything. It is the smell of books I love as well as reading them.

I go for books all the time. I would literally be broke if I bought all my books new.

I also found some cool wall sconces that hold candles. I'm not allowed to use them but they look awesome.
I love old, and they are the best place for antiques.

I got a complete bargain the other day, I loved Roald Dahl when I was a kid so when I saw a book of his I'd never heard of I bought it. It cost me £2 but when I looked on ebay and amazon I found out that second hand copies go for about £20. The book was Tales of the Unexpected.

I don't always get mad enough to punch puppies....But when I do, Scrappy takes one right in the kisser.

I just wanted to resurrect this post.

Sadly, Googling "Scrappy Doo getting punched" yields less treasures than thrift stores do.

I dropped an old weight bench that I replaced over the weekend at the Salvo down the street from my house today. It's probably still there if anyone's interested

Also some of my old shoes. Anyone out there stalking me and want some of my old shoes?

Bit too far for me I'm afraid.

The last "thrift shop" I walked into was selling clothing starting at a couple hundred dollars... I couldn't afford to shop thriftily.

Some of the charity shops in London are apparently like that!

I was with a few friends who thought the prices were "quite reasonable." I just shook my head inwardly and kept quiet the entire time. Quite different from what I was used to when visiting thrift shops in high school and "expensive" being maybe $20 max.

The charity shop that's around the corner from me sells all books for 50p (84c), DVDs for £1 ($1.68) and most of the clothes are £2 ($3.35)
