our daughter suffered a brain injury.
she did return to school, and got enough credits to graduate.
special education kids get to go to high school till they are 22 to help them get ready for college or work when they are 23.
so, my daughter wanted to take a cooking class, and that was all.
no transportation issues, my wife would have driven her to school, and picked her up.
the school says NO!
a full day of school, or nothing.
she has enough credits, she didnt want to take more math, english, etc., or 7 study hall hours.
just a cooking class.
we are now working with polititions to make rules/laws, so the kids like my daughter can, if they have enough credits anyway, to take 1 or 2 classes a day.
kinda give em a college type feel, not a high school feel.
please help all the handicapped kids in your state/district, to be able to have this ability.
call you school board members, call your senators, congressmen, etc.
make them pass laws to help these kids, PLEASE.
i am.

That's the way it was when I went to school. We had to fill our day with classes we didn't need or be teacher's assistants.

Now, the school in my area is so used to accommodating home schooled kids, they have several students who attend for one class and then leave.

Is it just this school, the district or the state?

our local representative joe sosnowski is looking into if it is a state issue, the school board is looking into if it is a district issue, how it can be changed.
our school superintendent will not help.
