How long did it take to vote if you voted on election day?

Only 90% here and there. I think turnout this time overall is lower than in 2008. We'll have to wait for the final numbersthough.

From when I stepped into the line to when I walked out the door with the "I voted" sticker = 2 hours and a few minutes.

We had a lot of people and a broken vote scanner machine.

I mailed it in. So it took.......however long it took for the ballot to get there.

I got lucky...only about a 20 minute wait here at my polling place! Within the hour, it was pouring rain...the poor folks the rest of the day!

I find it crazy how there doesn't seem to be a stronger will to have these lines reduced. From what I can find the eligible voter turnout for the election was around 60%. At the last New Zealand general election, our turnout was around %74 yet any line longer than 20-30 minutes would have been seen as completely unacceptable. "According to a survey commissioned by the Electoral Commission, 71% of voters voted in less than 5 minutes and 92% in less than 10 minutes." I know you guys have more options to vote on than us but surely they should prepare for the election with this in mind.
