It depends on weather you use a calculator or not. Calculators use BODMAS

I think there should be some brackets around the addition's.

I used a calculator on my phone the first time. The second time, I used Microsoft Excel and got the same answer as TPT did. Even when I typed in the equation exactly as it's written here, it was the same answer. Brackets around some of the addition would have changed the order of operation in some cases. So...unless the answer we got was horrifically wrong, they probably weren't missing.
