He's a big boy but super cute!
He started gaining weight after being neutered and the only thing he eats is dry cat food.

It makes me genuinely upset to see animals that obese, it can't be comfortable for them.

That is horrible. They shouldn't be allowed to own a pet letting it get that big. Poor thing can't run and jump, and enjoy a cat's life at all.

Idk how you make a cat get in shape, though. If you just free feed dry food (like most people do) then do you just feed them once a day? What if they get hungry?

It's different than dogs, because you take them out to run and play. Cats are trickier.

Then you take the poor thing to a vets and put it on a strict eating plan, if it gets hungry then it'll have to deal with it.

I know it's hard to resist the charms of pets when they want food, but if they're in that kind of state then you don't really have much choice.

common side effect of spaying/neutering a cat.
however I'm willing to bet that this cat was not on any eating plan / diet / call it what you will, which contributed to the state it's in.

And contrary to popular belief, you can in fact train a cat and take them out on walks. It may take more patience but it's very doable.

Even so, this poor animal is sad to look at, I can understand having a fat cat but an obese lump like this? people need to take more ownership of their pets and not let them get like that. blah
