To be more accurate, humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes, 22 pairs of autosomes and one pair of sex chromosomes.

The X chromosome, which, when coupled with another X chromosome produces a female child, contains 1846 genes, whereas the Y sex chromosome which, when present, produces a male child, has only 454 genes.

I don't see why the chromosomal composition of humans in comparison to the other species listed should be classed as any sort of "wierd" medical fact.

It is what it is.
