Saw these in the store the other day. Just had to get one for nostalgia's sake.

i had a gumby and pokey and the rubik's cube, they were my favorite toys from my childhood, i keep them in my 20's. gumby and pokey, i keep in 20's, i am not sure why, i like to stretch out both of them, it relaxing and fun, it helped with with stress. i remember when i was a teenager, i brought the rubik's cube with 15 pages booklet with instructions. i never understood the instructions and i followed the pictures in the booklet, but i never get all four sides lined up right, i got three sides right, but i never the four sides. i finally i got tired playing with it for good, i got rid for good. i kept the cube for over 40 years, then i got rid it. i like it a lot especailly the colors, all those years, i still couldn't figure how to get all four sides to have the same colors. the cube was something that challenge to me, so i kept for long time. with all good things, as much you try to beat it something, the best course is to let go!

My brother had one of those. I had to bribe him with baseball cards, and give him the gum that came in the pack of cards so I could play with his handheld.

"Kerbangers on the left, Kerbangers on the right, Kerbangers, Kerbangers, Kerbangers out of site." That was the jingle for this toy which had two balls, each connected by string to the plastic handle. The idea was to move the handle up and down with a flick of the wrist and get the balls to smack into themselves above and below the hand. How kids survived this without broken knuckles is beyond me. Those things hurt!

You really had some exciting toy's when you were young didn't you

Those damned things hurt for real. I don't know how many kids safely made it out of the 80's without broken knuckles.

The uk called them clackers. Mostly girls used them, as you say, many sore wrist.
