Blimey..... this one has prodded a few responses, hasn't it..? I'm actually quite impressed with how the discussion hasn't wandered too far off topic.... it's managed to stay reasonably within the realms of the family aspect, or at least, it's stayed close to "on topic" more so than most threads on this site.

I'll re-iterate my original point. The survey that I posted was a clear contradiction to those who say that LGBT couples are not fit to raise a family solely by virtue of their sexuality...... That being an LGBT couple disqualifies them from the right to a family life.

At no point did I ever claim that the survey result was indicative of ALL LGBT relationships. Heck, anybody who claims that all LGBT's make perfect parents can be shot down by two words: Rosemary West.

No, not all of us are perfect. Some of us are flawed, but that in no way disqualifies the vast majority of us from raising a family than it does with similarly flawed hetero couples.

Drawing attention to the survey is no bad thing because it reinforces the common sense argument that LGBT couples are as capable of being good parents as hetero couples and therefore nobody should ever nay say us our right to family happiness.

Those who wish to object on religious grounds can do so all they wish, but their arguments appear more and more fatuous every time another little piece of hard evidence such as the survey I posted at OP comes along.

Sooner or later, the oppression of LGBT couples will fall apart, and this will achieved in some part by the drip-drip-drip effect of the little things.

Seventh-day Adventists, and I'm from the church, I cant remember anything like that in 1999, and I been in the church for over 20 years.

Like most time settings, I personally think its wishywashy.
There will be more over my lifetime too, come and go and dates come and go, and I think then we all get tired of it by the time I pass away. in 50 or so years time.

People have made more money on this subject with books than I care to admit, every decade people make up so much crap about this, to a point it does not interest me anymore.

People have became very obbsessed with the Apocalypse, it simply drains you to work it out, I have reached a point in my personal life to simply place it in the backburner.

So much for the myth that we're not fit to raise a family.

I wouldn't say their unfit to raise a family to begin with.

However, (this is me being pretty prejudice in some ways) I'd say that a majority of lesbian families are probably better off financially.

I say this because it's obvious they can't reproduce a child on their own. So they have to either adopt, or go the artificial insemination route. Both of which require some financial means.

Why does finance matter? Well, for one, I'd say if you look at better off families, abuse is probably a lot less pronounced. Also, with adoption/foster care you have to be evaluated proving you would be a suitable parent.

I mean most people that adopt are wanting to take good care of a child and most of the time their taking in a kid that has had a tough life and might have already been abused so why would they want to abuse them?

Ok...so we've children Lesbian households. Just for mischief can I say that the child has no genetic link to either parent?

Coz then I can flip the coin and say there are going to be children with three genetic parents.

Hmm, not to freak you out but what if satan is doing something else...
what if your entire religion has been created by satan in order to steer you away from gods true desires?

what if the real god is actually from some other religion? or if we don't even have a religion that's right but satan wrote the bible and filled it with a bunch of things god doesn't want and is making you do them? like persecuting homosexuals.

I say this because there is likely exactly the same amount of evidence and the same amount of logic behind your statement above.

How do we know which is right?

We know the bible is right because Jesus Christ gave himself up to crucifixion.

"Lesbian households produce a child abuse rate of 0%"?

I remember when I was at university studying teaching, we watched a G&L propaganda film on how good they were as parents. I remember being both angry and disgusted and starting a bit of a fight in class actually, about the fact that one lesbian couple were busily grooming their little girl to become a lesbian. The fact that they blatantly did it whilst on film, made it pretty clear that this was the norm for the poor girl in the 'documentary'.

If that had been old men grooming a young boy for gay sex, it would have resulted in jail time, as it should.

Thus, using the type of sampling herein, and extrapolating from there to the thread title, I can rightly say, "Lesbian couples produce 100% child abuse rate" and be fairly comfortable with it.
