I knew a Mark Graves!

i wonder what his grave mark will say

i wonder what life will be next on this planet after most large animals die again.

Oh yes. I forgot. jonnythan is 100% correct about everything and we all best just follow jonnythan's with regard to anything!

What a strange response. This doesn't seem to make any sense at all.

Just a few tidbits for thought:

The last time the planet saw a warming trend similar to the one we're in, it involved mass worldwide extinctions and sudden, dramatic shifts of global biomes. And that trend was about 5-10 times slower than this one.

Also, global carbon output is currently outpacing the IPCC's 2007 worst-case scenario estimates. Atmospheric carbon levels are increasing at what appears to be the fastest rate ever in the modern atmosphere.

Just sayin.

Green-go. just sayin.

The real question is can this be stopped and/or reversed or is it pretty much too late?

Great question. Have we passed the carrying capacity for humans in only certain areas or in the majority of countries already? Water being one of the main resources and the basis for life sustenance. Food & renewable resources limitation concerns. And of course man-made resource problems of oil, chemical, & pollution factored in.

I remember reading/watching somewhere a while ago that 2015 was pretty much the year where, if we were to continue doing what we were doing, this whole climate situation would spiral out of control and it would be too late to do anything. So if that's true, I don't know if the changes we make today will even have enough time to take effect before 2015. Maybe it's even too late as we speak.

How topical:

"Conservation scientists report in a new survey that they expect the Earth will suffer major hits to biodiversity levels in the years ahead."
