tune up computer software

Hi,
I am new to this forum experience so will have to feel my way.With so much product available how does one work through it all to buy what works for me.I want to be able to keep my computer in good order,my virus software is good and secure I have cable connection which provides very quick connection so would like suggestions on how I can keep my computer tuned up.

Ausologics Defrag is one of the tools in my software utility toolkit, and its a great defrag software, much better than the microsoft defrag that comes with Windows.

There is many utilities out there, just google them, most of them are free, back in the DOS era there was Norton Utilities in the late 80s and 90s, great software to maintain the DOS computer and optimize performance.

Auslogics System Information, tells you everything you ever need to know about your system? This including the power on and off cycles of the drive.
