Vision problem....

I am really nervous and cant get in to see the Doctors until Monday morning. Last night (Friday night) when i went out i noticed my vision in my left eye with lights were funny...i couldnt see properly...street lights, traffic lights, car lights...i can make out the color of them but they all look hollow like blackness in the middle and can only see the outside shape of it in it's color if that makes sense? I can then see the whole light if i am really close to it..like parked behind the car, next to the traffic light etc.

I rang the emergency room at the hospital and they told me to go to my local..i rang in this morning (Saturday) but they couldnt fit me and made an appointment for Monday morning...mean while i am really scared and nervous and just wanted to know has anyone been through this before and what was the outcome...im scared i might be losing my vision?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

i've never been in that situation, but if i were i can tell you one thing that's for certain, i sue as s*** wouldn't be waiting 'till monday to see a doctor.

Do you think it could be something serious?
When i rang the ER they seem to think there was nothing they can do for me and to go see my local Dr?

last time i broke a few of my fingers i didn't even bother going to the hospital, last time i needed stitches i did them myself. if anything went wrong with my eyes or heart i would be in the hospital as soon as possible.

Maybe i should head to the ER and see what they have to say since they werent to keen to help on the phone.

i wouldn't take the word of someone you phoned at ER. I assume that they don't have medical professionals answering their phones ?

she was asking me follow up questions which i just kind of guessed. she asked if it was ongoing, i said no then she asked if there was any pain and i said no so she said that it would probably be okay to wait untill monday to see my GP but if i still have concerns to go to the accident and emergency (ER)

i reckon they just say the last part for legal reasons.

is the problem ongoing though ?

It started last night (almost 24 hours now) and when i woke up this morning it seemed a little better but still there, although the lights don't bother me as much during the day as they do when the sun starts to set...

'tis quite alright, it's just a quick phone call.

i'm starting to think that if there isn't any pain and it's starting to get better then i would tend to leave it to monday to be honest. though i would definitely make sure i saw someone on monday.

No pain at all and otherwise my visiion is fine when looking at other things (as long as it's not lights). I am booked in for 9am with my local Doctor to see what he says.
