Speech Transcript & 29 Standing ovations from both sides of the aisle

""Both sides of the aisle believe you advanced the cause for peace," Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, the top Democrat in the House of Representatives, told Mr. Netanyahu after his speech."

"Sen. Harry Reid (D., Nev.) also appeared to break from the president on the issue of the 1967 lines. "No one should set premature parameters about borders, about building or about anything else," he told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference on Monday."

"Courageous Arab protesters are now struggling to secure these very same rights for their peoples, for their societies.

"We’re proud in Israel that over 1 million Arab citizens of Israel have been enjoying these rights for decades.

"Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, only Israel’s Arab citizens enjoy real democratic rights."-- B.N.

________________________________________________________________
"Israel has always embraced this path in a Middle East that has long rejected it. In a region where women are stoned, gays are hanged, Christians are persecuted, Israel stands out. It is different."--B.N.

________________________________________________________________

"So now here’s the question -- you’ve got to ask it -- If the benefits of peace with the Palestinians are so clear, why has peace eluded us?

"Because all six Israeli prime ministers since the signing of the Oslo accords agreed to establish a Palestinian state, myself included. So why has peace not been achieved?

"Because so far the Palestinians have been unwilling to accept a Palestinian state if it meant accepting a Jewish state alongside it".--B.N.

It is obviously not that cut and dry dude. Israel wants it done on their terms, always has been the case. And a washed-over speech given by the Israeli prime minister to the approval of an American legislature doesn't mean squat. At least let's have a Palestanian post here to tell you their side and why they cannot accept Israel's terms before passing biased judgement.

They want it done on fair terms, not starting out by selling the farm and going from there. Obama completely undercut any negotiations at all.

The Palestinian position is untenable and everyone knows it and have demonstrated it several times both in negotiation, and in their terrorism. The only thing they will accept is the dissolution of Israel, and that was never more evident than in 2000 when Bill Clinton, of all people, laid the blame for the failure of the Camp David Peace Accord that year squarely on Arafat.

The Palestinians won't talk straight, and if you don't trust the Israelis, you gotta just look at the facts for yourself.

I am tempted to believe that the Palestinians would mount great resistance to any plan that called for Israel to continue existing, even if it meant their own nation.

Netanyahu made a good point the other day about the stability of Israel while governments across the mideast are failing. There is just something endemic about the region that has nothing to do with Israel.

That is one irrational (read psychotic) bunch of Lemmings, which is a pretty good analogy, voluntarily doing the PLO's bidding by rushing off to jump in the ocean, so they don't have to be pushed in I guess. And they're pro-Iran too, even though Acmawhat'shisname says the Holocaust didn't happen. So which is it? Was it Zionist caused or a myth?

"Surrender is the Torah Solution"

"IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT ALL THE SAGES AND SAINTS IN EUROPE AT THE TIME OF HITLER’S RISE DECLARED THAT HE WAS A MESSENGER OF DIVINE WRATH, SENT TO CHASTEN THE JEWS BECAUSE OF THE BITTER APOSTASY OF ZIONISM AGAINST THE BELIEF IN THE EVENTUAL MESSIANIC REDEMPTION."

Apparently they do believe in a return to Israel, but only when they say it's supposed to happen. I guess that's 'common knowledge' as well.

If they're so hot for surrender, who's stopping them?

A lot of stuff can be traced back to Carter, like Iran. I still find it hard to believe I voted for that Nobel Peace Prize supplicant
(succlicant )....twice.

Carter was outside the party mainstream and did not receive the backing he should of. There was a perfect storm brewing that he was not in control of- much like Obama's inheritance of two wars & the brink of massive economic collapse.
As an ex-President- you will not find a better example of an honorable sincere & humble person.
I'd think any Christian worth their religion would find President Carter one of the best people in the world.

The economy is mostly laid at the feet of the Democrats, going back, ironically, to Carter and the fair housing sub-prime bulls***. Yes the Republicans, especially Bush, made it worse by quaking in their boots for fear of speaking too loudly. Then Oby inherits much of a mess, but then doubles down on 10 times over. And all the Dems can do is point fingers. At least Paul Ryan has a credible plan to save Medicarte, while Obamacare takes $500 billion away from Medicare which will put it under in 13 years.

There was nothing really wrong with fair-housing. Most of the blame was not of the borrowers fault as it was an unregulated financial industry. The perfect storm hit under Bush's watch- why did he not do anything prior to that? Because the feds did not know what they needed to about the unregulated practices the banks & predatory lenders were involved in.
"The crisis can be attributed to a number of factors pervasive in both housing and credit markets, factors which emerged over a number of years. Causes proposed include the inability of homeowners to make their mortgage payments (due primarily to adjustable-rate mortgages resetting, borrowers overextending, predatory lending, and speculation), overbuilding during the boom period, risky mortgage products, high personal and corporate debt levels, financial products that distributed and perhaps concealed the risk of mortgage default, bad monetary and housing policies, international trade imbalances, and inappropriate government regulation. Three important catalysts of the subprime crisis were the influx of moneys from the private sector, the banks entering into the mortgage bond market and the predatory lending practices of the mortgage lenders, specifically the adjustable-rate mortgage, 2–28 loan, that mortgage lenders sold directly or indirectly via mortgage brokers. On Wall Street and in the financial industry, moral hazard lay at the core of many of the causes."
