I just splurged out a bunch of writing whilst only half thinking about it. Went back and read it and I actually think I've written it correctly and succinctly. Weird how I think I write my best stuff when I don't over think things.

I've found myself going for the kettle an awful lot this past few days as well.

I managed to finish a couple of extracts from my books, think they make some form of sense. Now teatime and a trip to the library to get books on deontology. Fun.

You do Deontology quite early at your uni do you? We didn't start anything like that until second year. First year at my uni was all fluffy philosophy which to me was exactly what I'd done at higher at school.

Yeah they threw us in at the deep end a bit, though I have done a bit on it before at A Level. Next year actually sounds easier than this year, it;s been brutal. Think they've done it the wrong way around.

On the other hand at least you won't get complacent. First year here was so easy that I got good grades without really trying, then suddenly I had loads and loads of work to do and my grades suffered for the first semester of second year.

Wish my course was only three years really, first year at my uni was just a waste of time.

So I am sure I am not alone in people who should be getting on with their essays instead of messing about on TFS (seriously my post count doubles during essay season) so I thought I would create a thread dedicated to us.

What are you supposed to be writing about, how much longer have you got to go and how much more fun does everything that was really boring a month ago seem now?

I have found that when I have been studying a text for a while a little recrational read can be quite relaxing and I have found that when I have been engaged in formal writing for a while a litte recreational writing is a nice break.

I've decided to have the night off, going to get a few beers and knock out the essay tomorrow down the Library. Got about 500 words left and one significant topic to cover and I'll be done.

Frustrating to try and consolidate the entirety of Book II of Locke's 'Essay concerning human understanding' in 2,500 words though.
