I asked lots of aging baby boomers if they ever were hippies. Y'know, like smoking stuff and partying all night long. Their answers surprised me. Most of them NEVER lived that lifestyle and they were teenagers or young adults in the 60's. I'm confused.

Just because a 'stereotype' has become famous doesn't mean that everybody did it.

That would be like asking everybody in the South if they were in the KKK...or something like that.

Also, how many people did you talk to?

'lots' as in a thousand?
30 thousand?

It needs to be thousands (of randomly selected people) to be relevant in relation to the population of the US in the 60's.
