I feel really sorry for one of my school friends. His dad was the MSP for my home town area since 1999 and was not only a really nice guy but a really hard working MSP.

His seat was pretty safe with the Tories being the only close contenders, yet due probably to the coalition he lost his seat yesterday to the SNP.

I'm not even a Lib Dem supporter but if I lived in that constituency I would have voted Lib Dem rather than Labour on the constituency list because he is a genuinely good MSP.

The lack of Liberal Democrats in the Scottish parliament I think is a bad thing, now there is no true Liberal voice there. Eurgh. Nick Clegg ruined everything for Liberalism.
