Interesting short article. I know I don't miss having to deal with traffic. Texting should be banned while driving IMO.

Oh nice I don't wear makeup, but I don't see how women put on makeup and drive also. Oh wait they swerve all over the place too.

You do it at traffic lights. It's an art!

That pisses me off too, I always put my make-up on at the pub before I drive home.

Seriously though, ANY distraction while driving is an open invitation for disaster!

if you get caught using a mobile phone whilst driving in the uk, you risk points and a fine, the law is pretty strict about this, but you have get caught first!!!!!!

Its been on the news here that they are trying to do that here (I already thought it was illegal but what do I know?) I do believe it should be made illegal 100% though. The problem really though is for the most part is its not enforceable. For example I see on a daily basis cars with headlights out (which on a dark road could be mistaken for a bike), no rear lights, cars weaving in/out of traffic at high speed & where are the police? I am not trying to put them down BUT there is only so much that they can do & trying to spot cell users whilst they are driving is somewhat harder than someone speeding or who has blown bulbs etc. I do not know what the answer is because if the manufacturers get involved its going to be more like "big brother" or people will find ways to get around those systems, then its back to square 1. If you are not going to use a ear piece then you need to have the self control not to use it whilst driving. More regulation is not the ideal answer.

It seems like it is too much to expect people to put down the phone in the car. Do I want to kill or be killed because I have to look at my phone, or do I want to get to where I'm going and do so safely. Seriously, it's a no brainer. It's terribly sad that we have to have legislation that tells us what common sense should.
